Recent reports from inside the country suggest that China may have recently got its Ping on with Klingons
Are aliens contacting China?
It feels like aliens might be up to some remote access games again. At least that is what they have China believing if you believe what China is saying this month. According to TIME magazine, a report surfaced from Chinese state-run website Science and Technology Daily that their “Sky Eye” technology had detected possible signs of ET phoning from home.
China is using something called FAST. This stands for “Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope – and why is it not called Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope Radio (FASTR)? Apparently this is for high-speed internet connections to talk to aliens, and now China is proud to announce that they have some results.
Greetings, from beyond the known universe.
Zhang Tongjie, a leading scientist and researcher first indicated that data suggested the possibility of ET contact.
Newsweek however, said hold up – wait a minute, and then went on to quote Tongjie as saying “These signals are from radio interference; they are due to radio pollution from Earthlings, not from ET.”
Are aliens contacting China or aren’t they?
So which is it? What started out as a great discovery that could potentially answer one of the greatest questions mankind has ever asked about our collective place in the universe has devolved into a report from somebody misreading something found in their cosmic spam folder.
China will no longer confirm the initial report, and the announcement has been taken down from their website. But one thing is for sure, the debate over whether aliens think we are interesting enough to talk to is still open. If you are a space alien and think humans are worth your time and bandwidth costs, let us know.
